55 years ago, our dedicated Meals-on-Wheels volunteers
Two of our current volunteers for Meals on Wheels

SAGE Meals on Wheels is the first of its kind in New Jersey. Our meals are planned by a registered dietician. Volunteers make deliveries Monday – Friday between 11:00 am – 12:30 pm. However, our team of 100 volunteers deliver much more than a meal. They provide a warm smile, a friendly visit, and a watchful eye. Individuals who are 60 and older, frail, homebound, or disabled, are eligible for the program. Eligibility includes those individuals recuperating from an illness, those who are mentally or physically impaired, individuals without family or friends to shop for them, and someone requiring a special diet.

There are no income requirements to receive Meals on Wheels.

We deliver meals to:

Union, Essex, and Morris counties. Currently, these towns are receiving Meals on Wheels:

  • Berkeley Heights
  • Chatham
  • Millburn
  • Mountainside
  • New Providence
  • Short Hills
  • Springfield
  • Summit

If we do not provide service in your town, please give us a call and we will help you find an affiliate.

Please Note:

  • We can accommodate diabetics as our meals are low in fat and sodium.
  • Meals can be scheduled short term or indefinitely.
  • As a safety check, clients must be home to receive their meals.

Contact our office between 7:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, to make arrangements to receive Meals on Wheels. Delivery normally begins within a few business days.
